Football Training At Home No Experience Required Just Follow Football Training Routines

In the initial days of the game football players training did not amount to much. All they did was a few laps of the ground and jogging up and down the steps of the stadium. More often than not the players did this because this was what their coach – invariably a young man was doing as well. This tradition went on and on, without showing signs of abating anytime soon. Players were in poor shape and it was almost like plague. Nowadays most of the strength and conditioning coaches agree that football training routines should not incorporate much running since it is not really great for conditioning.


Jogging is normally a really simulating exercise and perhaps has no place in total football training. Most of the athletes in this sport are big men with at least 200 pounds of weight. For them jogging can have disastrous results, especially for their ankles and knees. American footballers are never required to run great distances. At times they have to run only 3 odd yards. However, still most of these athletes persist with this exercise as the cornerstone of their professional football training regimen. There is a definite reason for all this.

Most of the coaches at the professional outfits these days grew up when aerobics was a major solution for every health-related ailment. It could lead to fat loss, improve the health of one’s heart, and also condition athletes. However, it needs to be understood that just because something was being done 25 years back, it need not be followed even now. There was a time when players were not allowed to drink when they were practicing even during the summer season. However, there were some tragic incidents and this practice now finds its rightful place in the garbage bin.

It is important to be in game shape always and the best place to simulate that is through practice. Practice needs to be intense in order to prepare one for the rigors of the game.
